Awards and Scholarships
A range of scholarships are available to assist people wishing to study in NZ’s tertiary education sector. These can be found by searching on Google under: ‘tertiary scholarships and grants in NZ’
MAINZ offers two scholarships each year: one is available to CokeSmokeFreeRockquest finalists, and the other to Pacifica Beats finalists.
MAINZ / CokeSmokeFreeRockquest Scholarship
At each regional final one MAINZ Musicianship Award will be presented to the most outstanding musician. Each Award winner is then eligible to submit an essay on their musical philosophy and career/education plans. The winner will be awarded the MAINZ Scholarship, which consists of a year’s full tuition fees for any MAINZ Certificate programme, provided the recipient meets the entry criteria.
The MAINZ Scholarship winner will be announced at the CokeSmokeFreeRockquest National Final.
MAINZ / Pacifica Beats Scholarship
This prize is awarded to the most outstanding musician at each Regional Final. Each Regional Musicianship Award winner then becomes eligible for the MAINZ Scholarship: one year’s full tuition fees for any MAINZ Certificate programme, provided the recipient meets the entry criteria. This will be awarded to one Regional Award winner based on written material submitted by them, and the MAINZ Scholarship winner will be announced at the National Final.
