Angus has many years experience in the audio industry, and is regarded as one of New Zealand's top mastering engineers. He joined the teaching staff at MAINZ full-time in 2002.
Daryl has been a professional musician for 13 or so years in Grindcore legends "Malevolence" as well as various side projects including Prisondethfux, Masters of Metal, Lagerwerfer, Diswomble and 2-Days-Old. He started recording 4 and 8 track demos at high school many moons ago, and having completed a Diploma of Audio Engineering in 2000 started freelancing in various studios for a variety of bands. In addition to studio engineering he has toured the country extensively as a musician and as livesound engineer for international acts and has been the official "Sound Engineer for Satan" at the annual Satanfest in (Anti-) Christchurch for the last few years.
Prior to joining MAINZ at the start of 2002, Dave was a freelance live sound engineer, having toured the length and breadth of the country for more than 20 years. He has worked with countless acts including: the Exponents, Greg Johnson, Sir Howard Morrison, John Rowles, Garageland, Breathe, Savant, Tadpole, and betchadupa. During that time he also owned and managed PA hireage and flightcase manufacturing companies. Dave remains current in the industry by working part-time for College Hill Productions, one of New Zealand's largest sound companies, as well as freelance sound engineering for local acts.

Jean began performing with Red Mole theatre as an actor and musician, and travelled with them to the United States in 1978. The Drongos formed out of that alliance with Red Mole and played the streets and clubs of New York and the Northeast of America for the next seven years. Since 2000 she has sung in Jubilation, an à cappella gospel choir which performs regularly, and released a CD in 2009: Shout and Never Get Tired. The choir can also be heard on Bathe in the River, Don McGlashan’s 2006 song from the film No. 2. She has taught at MAINZ since 2004.
Johnny is one of New Zealand's top guitarists, and a specialist on the Chapman stick. He joined the teaching staff of MAINZ in 2002. He has played with Greg Johnson and Dave Dobbyn.
Julz arrived at MAINZ in 2007 with a plethora of skills and more than fifteen years of IT experience. She was the Computer Deployment Specialist at SKYCITY, before jumping ship and making the move to save our computers, and our sanity. She also teaches components of the Cert Audio & Live Sound programmes here at MAINZ. Julz is a qualified Audio Engineer, with her own recording studio, and enjoys playing the guitar, drumming, singing, and song writing. She is always happy to help with any technical issues you have.
Matt is a MAINZ graduate who has worked in many areas of the industry, predominantly as a music composer and sound designer for television and advertising.
An award winning engineer and a producer, arranger, composer and musician, Paul has 30 years experience in the professional recording, music, broadcasting and live sound industries in New Zealand and the UK.

Roy has a Diploma in Audio Engineering, a Certificate in Production and a Masters Degree (Hons) from the University of Auckland in Film, Television and Media. He has worked as a freelance engineer throughout the Auckland area. He has recently worked on album projects with American band Trans Am & local artists Badtown. Along with Chris Knox he is a member of Auckland band The Nothing. His latest project was the Top Ten album 'Stroke - Songs for Chris Knox' . Roy is currently working on projects with The Nothing & the Tall Dwarfs.
Tom is a musician whose experience covers most dimensions of music production. He is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist (guitars, basses, saxophones, flutes, percussion, keyboards), and has written, played on, produced and released multiple albums for Alloy, Bluespeak, the Inner City Jazz Workshop, and Trip to the Moon (new album "Lucifer’s Intemission" out in February 2010).
In recent years he has composed and produced music for multiple documentary films broadcast on national television. When not teaching at MAINZ he runs the Jazzscore label and website. Among the resources Tom brings to MAINZ is a Ph.D. (Auckland 1981) and 15 years experience as a university teacher.
Tony was founder of NZ band 'The Narcs' who earned five RIANZ Awards including 'Single of the Year' for their Top Ten hit 'Heart and Soul'. Tony wrote the single 'Abandoned By Love' which won the 1986 APRA Silver Scroll. The 90s saw a move to Australia where he continued to play and record with artists such as Wayne Gillespie, Nigel Gavin and Mal Green (Split Enz). Setting up his own marketing company Tony won various awards including two 'International Marketing' awards from USA Pro Audio manufacturers Mackie, and PreSonus. Tony is an in-demand bass player and has also produced the 'Best of the Narcs' album and the double CD 'Christchurch The Music' compilation.

Trinity wasn't sure which career in the music industry she was interested in, so in 1998 decided to enrol into the Diploma in Contemporary Music Performance and MAINZ in Auckland. Soon after, Trinity ventured back to Dunedin to complete a Bachelor of Music degree and formed a band called "Sanka". After completion of her degree Trinity travelled to Auckland to pursue a career in music. Now a tutor on the Foundation Sound and Music programme at MAINZ and Trinity is enjoying it thoroughly.
